National Institute of Design (NID) announced the list of NID DAT 2020 exam centres, along with other essential information with respect to the entrance test. NID DAT exam centres are the cities where students have to appear for the test. Candidates have to fill their preference for the exam centres while filling NID DAT application form. They must note that they can select only one exam centre from the list. The total number of exam centres of NID DAT 2020 is not the same for the preliminary exam and the mains exam. NID DAT was conducted in 21 test cities across India. The DAT Mains exam will be held at any one of the following NID campuses – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Gandhinagar, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. It is to be noted that NID DAT exam centres will be allocated to students based on a first-come-first-serve basis. The details regarding the exam centres will be given on NID DAT admit card. In NID DAT 2020 question paper, the easiest sections were logical and non-verbal. 

There were 6 Creative questions and 21 GAT questions. In NID DAT question paper, first 10 questions were from General knowledge, history and current affairs. In addition, there were logical questions based on diagram. Questions based on general knowledge were difficult as they were related to history and current affairs. Creative section tested candidates’ abilities that how neatly they can draw and major focus was on student’s imaginative, analytical and problem solving approach. There were no any questions from communication ability which was quite surprising for the students as every year few of the question are given by this section.

Q2. “Where mind is free of fear the head is held high where knowledge is free,where the world has not been broken up into fragment by narrow domestic walls.” (10 marks)
Draw a poster on this quote of Rabindra Nath Tagore.
Q3.How tree will defend itself from man. (15 marks)
Q4. Scene given ( Change the direction of the kitchen with the perspective of 3 year old child. (12marks)
Q5.Create a pattern on cube which is already shown in a picture/ Unfolded cube pattern–> change it in 3D view. (5 marks)
Q6. A child sitting under a tree .A raspberry fall on his head In place of raspberry if a pumpkin would have fell on his head.

The authorities are likely to release the answer key of NID DAT 2020 in second week of January. Candidates can check their results on March 19, 2020.

NID has declared its first phase result of B.Des/GDPD on 20th march 2019.The first phase of exam was full of surprises for the students as the pattern was changed and emphasis was more given on creative part.The 30 marks aptitude and 70 marks creative section was complete opposite to the previous years papers of NID ,though the difficulty level of the paper was moderate .

As expected the changed exam pattern impacted the cut off of NID B.Des and this year cut off was lower in comparison to last few years. The DAT Mains Exam 2019 is scheduled on 14 & 15 May 2019 providing shortlisted aspirants good number of days to prepare for studio test.First time NID is conducting second phase exam at its four exam centre : NID Ahmedabad(631 seats), Bengaluru(325 seats), Vijayawada(270 seats) and Kurukshetra(270 seats).The DAT Mains exam centre will have to be selected by the candidates themselves ONLY.Allotment of DAT Mains exam centre will be on first cum fist serve basis.Candidates who fail to submit their exam centre preference, will be allotted by the system based on the number of seats available at the respective centre. NID 1st Phase exam has 30% weightage and while 2nd Phase has 70% weightage so 2nd Phase is crucial stage for selection of NID aspirants.
